A new comedy/crime caper from award winning director Denis Arcand (Academy Award winner of Best Foreign Language Film for The Barbarian Invasions)
Pierre-Paul Daoust, 36, an intellectual with a PhD in philosophy works as a deliveryman to make a living. One day, while delivering a parcel, he gets caught in a hold up gone terribly wrong: two dead and millions in money bags lying on the ground. He is confronted with a dilemma: leave empty handed, or take the money and run.
The film is a witty yet touching look at the predominance of money in a society where all other values seem to have crumbled.
“Film noir and social satire in a bracing comedy with a serious purpose. Charged with alternating currents of droll wit, sardonic cynicism, and socialist-tinged idealism.” – Joe Leydon, Variety
“[Arcand’s] new film is a sardonic, solidly entertaining fusion of crime caper and state of the nation rumination that should find favour with arthouse audiences.” – Allan Hunter, Screen Daily
Rated R for some violence, sexual content and language.
Language: French (English subtitles)
